Michael Cooper 5 Stars May 2021
Hand-harvested from 23-year old vines and matured in French oak barriques, this deep-ruby red is sweet-fruited and supple. Worth cellaring but already highly enjoyable, it has mouthfi lling body and strong cherry, plum and spice flavours that show excellent harmony
Winestate 5 Stars May 2021
Already highly enjoyable, this estate-grown red was hand-picked from 23 year-old vines and matured for nearly a year in French oak barriques (27% new). Bright ruby, it is full-bodied, sweet-fruited and supple, with vibrant cherry, plum and spice flavours, finely integrated oak adding complexity, and excellent depth and harmony. Best 2024+.
Dish Magazine 5 Stars (No 3) March 2021 (Judged by Yvonne Lorkin, Cameron Douglas, Colin Ford, Corey Hall, Dave Roper and Martin Pickering.
This stunning wine well and truly wowed our judges with its elegantly exotic aromas, its rich, seamless textures and beautifully integrated tannins. “It’s got a savoury core and superb fruit” noted Cameron, while Marty loved its generosity and combination of black and red currant complexity. “I adore this wine” added Yvonne. “More Please!”
Bob Campbell 95/100 November 2020
Very appealing wine with a seductively silken texture. Plum, dark berry, a suggestion of floral and violet, with thyme characters. A restrained fruit-bomb style that is deliciously accessible but should develop well.
Sam Kim 95/100 November 2020
It is gorgeously composed and styled, showing dark cherry, warm spice, dark mushroom, cedar and floral characters on the nose. The palate displays excellent weight and concentration, combined with refined texture and silky tannins, leading to a wonderfully long delectable finish. At its best: now to 2029.
James Suckling 94/100 November 2020
This has a deeply fragrant, perfumed nose with violets, red cherries, blueberries and plenty of spice. The palet is so vivid and upbeat with bright, fresh, red and dark-cherry flavours. Silky, even-paced tannins lace the finish. Drink or hold.
Cameron Douglas MS 94/100 September 2020
Seductive, ripe, fruity, floral and varietal with aromas of sweet dark red cherry and dried raspberry and a medley of minerality and sweet oak spices. Equally seductive and ripe on the palate with flavours that mirror the nose plus plum, clove, vanilla and thyme. An abundance of fine tannins, medium+ acidity and lengthy youthful finish. Delicious and well made. Ready to enjoy from today and through 2028+.
